Live broadcast from Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse on Sun Feb 1 3pm EST

Taintradio will undertake its first live/remote broadcast this coming Sunday, Feb 1 3pm-5pm (roughly).  We’ll be broadcasting live from Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse in Durham, NC  ( http://papamojosroadhouse.com/ ) - during a live concert of music by Louisiana accordion and harmonica ace “Jumpin” Johnny Sansone ( http://www.johnnysansone.com/ ).  For  those of you that have not been there or live out of state or out of country, please check out their website.
Papa Mojo’s is a great cajun/creole joint on the outskirts of Durham — they feature great cajun food and offer live music on the weekends. The chef and owner is former Louisiana native, Mel Melton, who used to play harmonica for C.J. Chenier (son of Clifton Chenier, the late great king of Zydeco).  Mel is a great chef and an awesome harmonica player — as such, Mel and his band “The Wicked Mojos”, will back up Johnny Sansone during this concert, as well as featuring solo sets by Mel and Johnny.
I apologize for the short notice, but we got this together in a hurry late this week.  It will be an experiment, for sure, but hopefully a fun and successful one.  Tune in if you can — if you miss it, I’m sure we’ll re-run it in a couple of weeks.  Mitchell Feldman’s Jazz Without Borders show will be preempted by this live broadcast (thanks Mitchell!) - but tune in for a repeat of his show on Wed afternoon.  We hope to do more of these kind of events in the future, so stay tuned.
If you’d like to come out and see the show, you need to know that tickets are going fast, if they are not already sold out.  It is a special event at an odd time and will feature a special menu for the day, including a shrimp boil.  Please call Papa Mojo’s at the number on their web page to purchase a ticket to the show/dinner.  If you have any other questions,  drop me a line.
