With a little help from our friends…
taintradio.org is now in its third year of operation as a 24/7 venue for music and music-related programming. We launched taintradio in 2008 knowing our decision to become an all-volunteer, noncommercial, listener-supported basis was a journey into uncharted territory, to wit:
No ads on the site or in the stream - we’re not here to sell you anything;
No on-air fundraisers, corporate underwriters or grants - when we talk it’s about the music;
No format or music genre restrictions - taintradio is a venue for independent producers so each program producer is independent;
No music pirating - stealing from musicians and the people who make music possible really sucks.
Listener support is intended as our only source of income; it now provides about 35% of operating costs, for which we are very grateful.
Our music licensing fees to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and Sound Exchange for the 1st half of 2011 are now due. So this is an excellent time for you to click the Tip Jar tab at the website and do what you can. All contributors will receive a pair of taintradio bumper stickers and contributors of $50 or more will also receive a taintradio t-shirt.
