This week on RootsWorld Radio
www.RootsWorld.org
RootsWorld Radio #24 will be a bit of a wanderer. We’ll hear music, new and old, from many places, with few geographical relationships but plenty of musical kinship. From the 78s of southern Africa to the avant garde of Belgium, we’ll play fast and loose with the term “world music.” RootsWorld Radio airs at 5pm (Eastern) on Wednesdays and repeats at 8am on Saturdays.
Artists on the program include Aurelia, Orchestra Baobab, Griffiths Motsieloa and company, Roksonaki, Savina Yannatou & Primavera en Salonico, Vinicio Caposella, Arnaldo Antunes and Edgard Scandurra and Toumani Diabaté, George Sisimayi and his Crazy 5, Maria Marquez, Oranitza, Accordion Samurai and Les Ambassadeurs Internationales with Salif Keita.
