Our first session comes from the heart of London’s native folk world … taking songs 400 years old and writing new compositions working them into a seamless musical mix is the way Stick In The Wheel make their music. This session features songs from ‘ Bones ‘ their latest EP.
We travel a few hours out of London to East Anglia to find Norfolk based The Vagaband for session two. Their debut album ‘ Town & Country ‘ had them recognised by US magazine Alternative Root as a top 20 European roots band and we agree. We hear tracks from their debut record and some excellent teasers from there forthcoming record.
Record of the week is a wonderful ‘live’ recording of a concert I attended back in March this year. Danny & The Champions Of The World ‘ Live Champs ! ‘ is an excellent opportunity to experience Danny’s superb songwriting stretched out with his very hot playing band.
